NEW STUDENT ARRIVAL INFORMATION
As the first day of move-in is the busiest for the arrival of new students, we ask that you use this as a guide to help make Fall Move-in as smooth as possible for everyone.
ARRIVAL TIME
New students should plan to move in on SATURDAY, AUGUST 21st at the times listed below:
Out-of-state students: 9:00 a.m. – Noon.
Maryland students: Noon – 5:00 p.m.
Please arrive during these times to help minimize congestion. While special permission is not necessary if you need to arrive with the other group, we strongly encourage everyone to arrive during their designated times.
PACKING: Remember; pack as lightly as possible, especially if you plan to go home during the semester. You can bring things during later trips. This will help you get in, get set up, and save space in the room you are sharing with your roommates.
MOVING AIDS: If you have a handcart or other such device, it will be very helpful during opening. While we have a number of carts available, due to high demand, they may not be available immediately when you arrive.
DIRECTIONS
(once on campus, look for Blue Signs)
You must display the enclosed card with your name and building name on your dashboard. Please write your name on the card. This will help the University Police to give you the best directions for unloading near your building. An authorized driver must stay with your vehicle while unloading. It is helpful if you bring someone with you because you will be asked to unload your belongings onto the sidewalk and park your car before taking your belongings to your room.
Take I-695 to Exit 25—Charles Street. Go about 1-½ miles on Charles Street and turn left at the traffic light onto Towsontown Blvd. Go about ½ mile on Towsontown Blvd to the traffic light and turn right on Osler Dr. Go 2/10 mile and turn right onto Emerson Drive. Follow instructions given by the attendant.
PARKING
Once your vehicle is unloaded, please follow the direction of posted signs and posted staff to parking areas.
A parking permit is not required on this day.
